Winter Skies and NEW Beads – 2/11/2021

SoCal sunset

Hello! Winter is winding down here in my neck of the woods. But not before bringing us some of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever seen living in SoCal for the past 36 years.

Maybe I’m just older now so I’m appreciating them more. Lol! πŸ˜€  Either way I am soaking it all in…even the amazing constellations in these beautifully clear skies after dark have been fabulous!

I have been happily taking advantage of this time of year by spending some time in my happy place – at the torch. It has been the PERFECT weather for bead making! I don’t even have to run my noisy portable air conditioner!

Below are a few the new beads I’ve just listed in the Lampwork Bead Market group on Facebook. If they’re still available in a couple days they’ll be listed in my Etsy shop.

I hope all is well with you and thanks so much for your continued support and interest in my beads. πŸ™‚

NEW Beads – 9/25/2020

Smokey Sun

Hello! Well, Fall is officially here but we’re still seeing temperatures in the 90’s and next week will be 100+! 😦

Unfortunately, there are also fires still raging in the distance and the smoke and ash are being blown into our area.

I took this photo one afternoon when the smoke turned the sun an eerie dark orange.

Handmade Glass Art Encased Murrini Marble Style Pendant BeadIt has definitely been a crazy summer in more ways than one!

Thank goodness for things like making beads. Being creative is very therapeutic and I’m so happy when I’m able to spend some time at the torch.

Even though the weather hasn’t changed much yet, I know the cooler weather is just around the corner!

Handmade Glass Art Encased Murrini Charm Bracelet BeadIn the meantime, I do have a few new beads available this week over on Etsy (the large marble-style bead has sold already). I made these during the last cool-ish days we had (when we were only around 90, haha!)

I am really enjoying revisiting some of my previous designs from the past. I call them Neptune’s Net for the embedded copper mesh.

I also am having so much fun making larger size marble/paperweight-style gazing ball pendants.

Unlike most of my charm bracelet beads, these round gazing ball beads have a small hole that can be threaded right onto any smooth chain that is about 2.5mm or smaller. I often string them on ball-chain since it has the stability to showcase these larger beads well and the glass doesn’t catch on the chain.

Another way to wear these marble style beads is to use a ‘Beadhopper’ pendant stick to display them vertically.

OR, you can do what I usually do and just leave them on your desk to look at all day long. Lol! πŸ˜€

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day,

NEW Beads – 9/10/2020

Hello! It’s been a few weeks since I last posted so I hope you are doing well and that you are safe and sound.

Hot temps in L.A.

With a searing heat wave in our area for the past couple of a weeks it has taken me a while to be able to find cool enough days to make some beads.

So, while I don’t have too many to show…I am happy to share a popular design that I’ve brought back from the past; My Neptune’s Net Series with real, embedded copper mesh!

I used to make these beads in the traditional ’round-donut’ shape. But this time I’ve tried a NEW barrel Handmade Embedded Copper Mesh Barrel Shaped Big Hole Lampwork Glass Art Beadshape which allows for a little more surface area of the glass and fits more copper mesh.

I also have been enjoying making a larger version of my round marble/paperweight style encased Handmade Marble Paperweight Style Encased Murrini Glass Art Beadmurrini beads with a small hole.

These are about 1″ in size and perfect for wearing as a necklace (a 30″ stainless steel ball-chain is included!)

Or, you can just display the bead on your desk or dresser. They’re so much fun and fascinating to look at since there’s a different view with every angle (especially in direct sunlight!) πŸ™‚

These beads are currently available for the next 24 hours in the Facebook Group: Lampwork Bead Market and will be in Handmade Embedded Copper Mesh Barrel Shaped Big Hole Lampwork Glass Art Beadmy Etsy shop after that.

Thanks for looking!

NEW Beads – 8/20/2020

Hello! Well, I knew the heat was coming – but I didn’t know it would last THIS long…Ugh! 😦

We have been in the triple digits (often close to 110 and some days over that!) for the past week and a half and the forecast shows even more triple digit days are ahead.

So, needless to say, my torch has been greatly neglected lately and will be for at least a few more days – maybe longer.

Luckily I worked ahead a few weeks ago and still have a few new beads to release this week after all.

This week’s beads are a little smaller than my usual focal-size encased murrini beads (especially the top two shown below).

It takes everything in me to edit down the design enough so that I can get the beads this small – I just love adding lots of murrini, haha! πŸ˜€ But this smaller size is really easy to wear and nice for those who prefer the size of those name brand big hole beads (like the ones that start with ‘T’ and ‘P’). πŸ˜‰

These beauties are currently in the Lampwork Bead Market on Facebook then will be moved over to Etsy after that:
