Spring is here! The flowers are blooming…and so is a batch of NEW BEADS! :D

Hello! I hope this message finds you enjoying the first weeks of Spring and all the new flowers blooming! πŸ˜€

This has truly been one of the most glorious spring-times I can remember in all my years here in Sunny SoCal.

We had SO much rain this winter that the hills and mountains all around us are completely covered with thick carpets of green grass and beautifully colored wildflowers everywhere!

My family and I recently went out to visit a Poppy Reserve. They were experiencing a ‘Super Bloom’ this year and it was absolutely SPECTACULAR! The hills were exploding with bright orange flowers as far as the eye could see. Here is a photo I took of one particularly densely packed hillside…

All this color around me has inspired a new batch of beads, many with a floral theme. I finished most of them with silver, brass, or copper bead caps as well. I think the caps finish the beads so nicely making them perfect to wear all on their own, if you choose.

Here is the latest batch of beads available now on Etsy:

New Batch of Big Hole Beads on Etsy…Minus One :’-(

Sadly, my already small batch of beads that I had made to go up on Etsy this week got even smaller. One beautiful bead did not survive the coring process (as sometimes happens).

It happened to be one of my favorites…. But for me it’s not all bad news. Though I don’t get to share it with those of you who I know love these big hole beads – the plus side for me is I actually get to keep it! πŸ˜€

I will proudly add it to my own bracelet that is filled with big hole beads that didn’t make the cut for one reason or another. Despite their flaws, I still really enjoy them and love looking at them. πŸ™‚

These beads are available now on Etsy

…except for this one that I cannot sell, but that will find a good home on my bracelet:

NEW 3D Flower Bead & MORE Encased Murrini Beads

Now that I’ve finished writing my newest tutorial, Making Beautiful Encased Murrini Beads, I have time to get back to the torch and make more beads! πŸ˜€

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of making these…

I’ve also started making lentil focals again! I haven’t made them in quite a while, (as I was completely obsessed with making encased murrini beads for so long!), and I’m having so much fun with them all over again. I have more of these to come…;)

More Swirled Core Marble Beads With Murrini

I made a few more of these in pretty colors of peridot green, and fuchsia pink (which comes from Rubino Oro glass). I also made one that is swirled with different silver glasses for a more opaque look but with multiple colors running throughout the design. I even embedded some sparkling cubic zirconia stones to catch the light! πŸ˜€

New Swirled Core Marble Beads With Murrini

Learning new techniques then mastering them is what keeps me having fun with glass! πŸ˜€

I’ve been involved with many crafts and hobbies over the years, from soapmaking to acrylic painting, and while I’ve enjoyed them all there was a point where I felt I learned all there was to know about it.

For me, I love the challenge of learning new skills then practicing over and over till I get great results. Working with glass, I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface of learning all there is to know in this medium. There is so much to it and so many different places you can go with it.

I recently learned a new technique which combines swirls of transparent and opaque glass with hair fine stringer and multiple layers of crystal clear glass which greatly adds to the inner illusion of the twisted core.

Of course, I couldn’t help myself by adding some murrini to the surface of the beads πŸ˜‰

All beads are now available on Etsy:
