As soon as these beads came out of the kiln I knew exactly what they should be named – Mardi Gras! This week’s beads include my new encased florals which I am having so much fun making. I used rich colors of amethyst, burnt orange, and yellow ochre glass with touches of soft green.
I am fully in holiday mode! Usually it takes a while for me to get in the spirit of the season (probably from living in SoCal where we can be in the mid-80’s in December). But this year, for some reason, I’ve really gotten into the holidays early. 😀
This week’s beads reflect that wintery and festive mood –
Summer may be winding down but the heat is cranking up where I live! While the rest of the country has seen some of the hottest weather we, here in SoCal, have been experiencing a fairly mild summer. Until now…. Typically, this time of year, we really get cooking all the way through October.
So even though Fall is just around the corner, I am still thinking of and inspired by the beach!
