NEW Beads – 8/20/2020

Hello! Well, I knew the heat was coming – but I didn’t know it would last THIS long…Ugh! 😦

We have been in the triple digits (often close to 110 and some days over that!) for the past week and a half and the forecast shows even more triple digit days are ahead.

So, needless to say, my torch has been greatly neglected lately and will be for at least a few more days – maybe longer.

Luckily I worked ahead a few weeks ago and still have a few new beads to release this week after all.

This week’s beads are a little smaller than my usual focal-size encased murrini beads (especially the top two shown below).

It takes everything in me to edit down the design enough so that I can get the beads this small – I just love adding lots of murrini, haha! 😀 But this smaller size is really easy to wear and nice for those who prefer the size of those name brand big hole beads (like the ones that start with ‘T’ and ‘P’). 😉

These beauties are currently in the Lampwork Bead Market on Facebook then will be moved over to Etsy after that:

NEW Beads – 7/30/2020 (Small hole beads too!)

Hello, hello! Can you believe it’s almost August?

In some ways it feels like this year has gone by soooo slowly with everything going on. But now that August is here I’m wondering where the time went! Lol! 😀

The temperatures in my neck of the woods are starting to hit their peak (100+), ugh! I am watching the weather app on my phone like a hawk for the days that are somewhat cool enough to get out to the torch. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Collection of handmade glass art lampwork beadsIn the meantime I am happy to present to you this week’s collection of beads.

This week I have some small hole beads too! One is a large, round focal (the big pink one in this photo) and the others are a matching pair of small, round beads (the 2 blue ones).

The smaller hole beads are great for those of you who like to craft your own bead creations into necklaces and earrings.

Here is a link to the Lampwork Bead Market Facebook group where you’ll be able to find all these beads later today – you do have to join the group to view listings: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lampworkbeadmarket/

(P.S. If these beads are not picked up on FB I will move them over to Etsy.)

Thanks for looking!

Spring is here! The flowers are blooming…and so is a batch of NEW BEADS! :D

Hello! I hope this message finds you enjoying the first weeks of Spring and all the new flowers blooming! 😀

This has truly been one of the most glorious spring-times I can remember in all my years here in Sunny SoCal.

We had SO much rain this winter that the hills and mountains all around us are completely covered with thick carpets of green grass and beautifully colored wildflowers everywhere!

My family and I recently went out to visit a Poppy Reserve. They were experiencing a ‘Super Bloom’ this year and it was absolutely SPECTACULAR! The hills were exploding with bright orange flowers as far as the eye could see. Here is a photo I took of one particularly densely packed hillside…

All this color around me has inspired a new batch of beads, many with a floral theme. I finished most of them with silver, brass, or copper bead caps as well. I think the caps finish the beads so nicely making them perfect to wear all on their own, if you choose.

Here is the latest batch of beads available now on Etsy:

Ocean Themed Lampwork Beads

"Low Tide" round bead collection

Maybe it’s because I live in Southern California, or just an innate love of the ocean having grown up in and around it, but I am so often inspired to create ocean themed beads.

The color pallet of the ocean is so vast, you can use a wide range of hues to depict this theme. The ocean’s varying moods can be represented by everything from aqua and turquoise like the colors of the Caribbean Sea, to rich purples and amber which are reflected off the surface of the water at sunset.

The ocean can give creative minds so much artist expression to choose from. And I’m definitely no exception.

"Low Tide" bead focal

This week I have this collection of beads called Low Tide as the colors and design reminded me of all

the little pools of water and sea creatures you can find left behind among the rocks and sand once the tide goes out.

These beads are available now on eBay.
