NEW Beads – 9/10/2020

Hello! It’s been a few weeks since I last posted so I hope you are doing well and that you are safe and sound.

Hot temps in L.A.

With a searing heat wave in our area for the past couple of a weeks it has taken me a while to be able to find cool enough days to make some beads.

So, while I don’t have too many to show…I am happy to share a popular design that I’ve brought back from the past; My Neptune’s Net Series with real, embedded copper mesh!

I used to make these beads in the traditional ’round-donut’ shape. But this time I’ve tried a NEW barrel Handmade Embedded Copper Mesh Barrel Shaped Big Hole Lampwork Glass Art Beadshape which allows for a little more surface area of the glass and fits more copper mesh.

I also have been enjoying making a larger version of my round marble/paperweight style encased Handmade Marble Paperweight Style Encased Murrini Glass Art Beadmurrini beads with a small hole.

These are about 1″ in size and perfect for wearing as a necklace (a 30″ stainless steel ball-chain is included!)

Or, you can just display the bead on your desk or dresser. They’re so much fun and fascinating to look at since there’s a different view with every angle (especially in direct sunlight!) 🙂

These beads are currently available for the next 24 hours in the Facebook Group: Lampwork Bead Market and will be in Handmade Embedded Copper Mesh Barrel Shaped Big Hole Lampwork Glass Art Beadmy Etsy shop after that.

Thanks for looking!

NEW Beads – 8/20/2020

Hello! Well, I knew the heat was coming – but I didn’t know it would last THIS long…Ugh! 😦

We have been in the triple digits (often close to 110 and some days over that!) for the past week and a half and the forecast shows even more triple digit days are ahead.

So, needless to say, my torch has been greatly neglected lately and will be for at least a few more days – maybe longer.

Luckily I worked ahead a few weeks ago and still have a few new beads to release this week after all.

This week’s beads are a little smaller than my usual focal-size encased murrini beads (especially the top two shown below).

It takes everything in me to edit down the design enough so that I can get the beads this small – I just love adding lots of murrini, haha! 😀 But this smaller size is really easy to wear and nice for those who prefer the size of those name brand big hole beads (like the ones that start with ‘T’ and ‘P’). 😉

These beauties are currently in the Lampwork Bead Market on Facebook then will be moved over to Etsy after that:

NEW Beads – 8/5/2020

Hello, hello! I hope all is well with you and this message finds you in good health. 🙂

Bunny

Many of you know our family recently moved to a new home. Something we didn’t know until we moved in was how many rabbits there are everywhere! Occasionally I’ll wake up in the morning to see this little guy watching me through the window – haha! Good thing I don’t mind…

The past few days we’ve had a little break in the hot 100+ degree weather – which has been a welcome change!

To celebrate, I’ve put a few beads in my Etsy store on sale through the end of the month. You can find them here:  https://www.etsy.com/shop/CCGlassArt

This week’s NEW beads include some fun glow-in-the-dark murrini that I made recently. I’ve been tucking these special murrini into some of my beads here and there. If you soak them in a bright light for a minute then go into a dark room they glow electric blue! 😮

Here’s my current collection of beads now available in the Lampwork Bead Market Facebook Group:

NEW Beads – 7/30/2020 (Small hole beads too!)

Hello, hello! Can you believe it’s almost August?

In some ways it feels like this year has gone by soooo slowly with everything going on. But now that August is here I’m wondering where the time went! Lol! 😀

The temperatures in my neck of the woods are starting to hit their peak (100+), ugh! I am watching the weather app on my phone like a hawk for the days that are somewhat cool enough to get out to the torch. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Collection of handmade glass art lampwork beadsIn the meantime I am happy to present to you this week’s collection of beads.

This week I have some small hole beads too! One is a large, round focal (the big pink one in this photo) and the others are a matching pair of small, round beads (the 2 blue ones).

The smaller hole beads are great for those of you who like to craft your own bead creations into necklaces and earrings.

Here is a link to the Lampwork Bead Market Facebook group where you’ll be able to find all these beads later today – you do have to join the group to view listings: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lampworkbeadmarket/

(P.S. If these beads are not picked up on FB I will move them over to Etsy.)

Thanks for looking!

Spring is here! The flowers are blooming…and so is a batch of NEW BEADS! :D

Hello! I hope this message finds you enjoying the first weeks of Spring and all the new flowers blooming! 😀

This has truly been one of the most glorious spring-times I can remember in all my years here in Sunny SoCal.

We had SO much rain this winter that the hills and mountains all around us are completely covered with thick carpets of green grass and beautifully colored wildflowers everywhere!

My family and I recently went out to visit a Poppy Reserve. They were experiencing a ‘Super Bloom’ this year and it was absolutely SPECTACULAR! The hills were exploding with bright orange flowers as far as the eye could see. Here is a photo I took of one particularly densely packed hillside…

All this color around me has inspired a new batch of beads, many with a floral theme. I finished most of them with silver, brass, or copper bead caps as well. I think the caps finish the beads so nicely making them perfect to wear all on their own, if you choose.

Here is the latest batch of beads available now on Etsy:
