Winter & Holiday Lampwork Beads

I am fully in holiday mode! Usually it takes a while for me to get in the spirit of the season (probably from living in SoCal where we can be in the mid-80’s in December). But this year, for some reason, I’ve really gotten into the holidays early. 😀

This week’s beads reflect that wintery and festive mood –

1″ Sized Bead Focals on Etsy

I have been having a lot of fun creating these medium sized (and more modestly priced) lampwork focals for sale on Etsy.

They are not quite as labor intensive as my larger sized focals that I list on eBay. So I am able to have time to experiment with different color combinations and glass interactions – as well as incorporate some of my favorite design elements from the past.

Purple Passion Beads

I love purple as well all shades and variations of purple such as lilac, violet, and periwinkle.

In glass there doesn’t seem to be a huge variety to choose from in these shades so in order to make the most of it I have to find creative accents to help bring out all these rich and vivid tones.

Here are this week’s beads, featuring lots of purple in varying hues (and some pretty blue, teal and aqua shades too):

Recent Beads & New Lampwork Murrini

With the kids back in school this month has gone by in a blur. So this is a ‘catch up’ post to share all the glassy things I’ve been making lately…and then some.

Let’s start with beads –

Then I made some little murrini chips –

Golden Harvest murrini

As a final note – I finally got my first ‘big girl’ camera…something I have been wanting for many years. I love photography and as I get older capturing memories seems to be even more important.

My kids have been fairly cooperative as I take pictures of anything and everything I see, including them.

But one member of my family wants nothing to do with my new toy:

Our dog Pearl

Somehow I’ve got to get her used to it because she is one of my favorite things to take pictures of! Hopefully she’ll come around and enjoy getting her picture taken…with any luck it’ll be before her next trip to the groomer (which will be soon) because she looks so adorable afterward. I just won’t be able to resist snapping a few pic’s of her all dolled up. 🙂
