Halloween Themed Big Hole Beads

Hard to believe but Halloween is right around the corner! To kick off the holiday season I made some cute Halloween themed big hole beads featuring encased murrini in fun shapes.

Lampwork Murrini Designs for Glass Artists

Besides making glass beads, another passion of mine is making decorative little murrini chips (also sometimes called millefiori). I use these in my own bead designs but end up making more than I can ever hope to use myself so I offer them to glass artists for use in their own glasswork.

I just added a few new murrini designs to my Etsy shop in pretty Spring and Summer colors!

*For those who would like to make their own murrini, don’t forget about my murrini tutorial also available on Etsy ;-D

Earthy Organic Beads

These beads take me back to my lampworking roots when I made organic style beads all the time. Organic beads have a much more free-form approach when it comes to design. Instead of being very precise with placement of each element you allow the colors, special reactions and flow of glass to dictate your next move. This style of lampworking is so much fun to do because there are lots of unique surprises throughout the creative process. 😀

“Waikoloa” Lampwork Bead Collection

Years ago we traveled to the Big Island of Hawaii and visited Waikoloa Village where there’s a large hotel resort.

The resort is just beautiful with sprawling pools, lush tropical gardens, amazing architectural sculptures, and of course it’s right on the beach. They even have dolphins there!

Waikoloa Village is the inspiration for this bead collection. I used colored glass in shades of lavender, blue, aqua and turquoise with bits of bright orange for a pop of color here and there.
