New Universal Glass Euro Charm Beads

This might just be a record – for the first time in probably 2, or maybe even 3, years I have an entire batch of new beads without one…single…murrini chip in them! 😮

It’s definitely a departure from my usual bead-making routine. But, you know what, it was really fun! I let my mind roam free with these bead designs – drawing on techniques I haven’t done for years, and some new techniques too! It’s almost like a creative-reset, and was actually a very refreshing change!

But I will admit, I already have in mind a couple murrini bead designs planned for my next torching session. Guess that break won’t last very long…haha! 😀

The beads below can be found right now on Etsy:

handmade lampwork beads, euro charm beads, glass charm beads, handmade charm beads, trollbeads, elfbeads, pandora beads, chamilia beads, biagi beads, big hold beads, encased beads, silver glass beads, colorful glass beads, artisan beads, organic beads

More Swirled Core Marble Beads With Murrini

I made a few more of these in pretty colors of peridot green, and fuchsia pink (which comes from Rubino Oro glass). I also made one that is swirled with different silver glasses for a more opaque look but with multiple colors running throughout the design. I even embedded some sparkling cubic zirconia stones to catch the light! 😀

New Swirled Core Marble Beads With Murrini

Learning new techniques then mastering them is what keeps me having fun with glass! 😀

I’ve been involved with many crafts and hobbies over the years, from soapmaking to acrylic painting, and while I’ve enjoyed them all there was a point where I felt I learned all there was to know about it.

For me, I love the challenge of learning new skills then practicing over and over till I get great results. Working with glass, I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface of learning all there is to know in this medium. There is so much to it and so many different places you can go with it.

I recently learned a new technique which combines swirls of transparent and opaque glass with hair fine stringer and multiple layers of crystal clear glass which greatly adds to the inner illusion of the twisted core.

Of course, I couldn’t help myself by adding some murrini to the surface of the beads 😉

All beads are now available on Etsy:

Afternoon Breeze – large round focal bead
Arctic Sea - large round focal bead

I also made a couple encased murrini beads which include some of my new flower shaped murrini (to be listed on Etsy soon):

Purple Passion Beads

I love purple as well all shades and variations of purple such as lilac, violet, and periwinkle.

In glass there doesn’t seem to be a huge variety to choose from in these shades so in order to make the most of it I have to find creative accents to help bring out all these rich and vivid tones.

Here are this week’s beads, featuring lots of purple in varying hues (and some pretty blue, teal and aqua shades too):

Italian Marble bead set
Wild Lavender bead set

New Silver Glass Beads

I recently bought a new silver glass that not only has fun and unique reactive properties, but also produces some of the most vivid and intense deep shades of cobalt, plum, teal and turquoise I have ever seen in glass.

I had so much fun using this glass in most of this week’s beads…
