Underwater Aquarium Glass Bead Necklaces

These three beads were the models I used in my last tutorial, Making Beautiful Encased Murrini Beads.

I have held onto them all this time because they came out so nice, and were sentimental to me. But it is time to allow others to enjoy them as I have for so long. They are truly beautiful and full of tiny micro-details. I swear I see something new and different every time I look at them. 😀

The Obsession Returns – Encased Murrini Beads

Just when I thought I’d gotten tired of making these little gems, the obsession has struck again!

I usually like to make at least one or two of these types of beads to test new murrini and see how they look under encasement. The other day I was on a roll and made several – I still really enjoy making these beads! They are so challenging and in many ways they have a mind of their own, so the final result is always a bit of a surprise for me.

This week I have 5 new encased murrini beads, and 1 bubble crown bead. This bubble crown bead came out a little bigger than the ones I made before, it has 6 bubbles on top instead of 4, as well as an intricate swirled core of striped glass and shimmering dichroic. 😀

A New Year & New Lampwork Bead Sets

HaPpY NeW YeAr! 😀

I am still wondering how 2013 went by so fast! It really is true that the older you get the faster time goes by. I think I say this every New Years but I definitely need to start ‘smelling the roses’ more often so life doesn’t keep flying by… 🙂

Even though the weather has been unseasonably warm, high 70’s to low-mid 80’s, torching is still tolerable at these temps. So I’ve been busy making new bead sets for my Etsy store.

Here is a peek at some of my latest creations:

Assorted Glass Bead Collections

It’s been a while since I’ve sat down and made coordinating sets of beads. But I recently received an order of pretty colored glass frit blends and they inspired me to make several beads that all go together. 😀
