My obsession – going strong… 😀 You’d think after a year and a half of being consumed with making encased murrini beads I’d be tired of them by now. But no – there are so many endless design possibilities that I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this style bead. Occasionally I do venture out and do different things, but I always seem to come back to these. What’s a girl to do? 😉
Something brand new this week! Handmade lampwork glass cabochons bezel set into pendants 😀
The most wonderful thing about cabochons – as I have come to learn – is that you get all the beauty of a lampwork glass bead but in a shape that lies completely flat against the skin. They’re also a bit more lightweight than round glass beads of the same size so they’re very comfortable to wear.
It is a new way of thinking designing these cabochons because you only have 1 side to play with. So it becomes a bit of a challenge in some ways. But the end result is so worth it I think. Once they’re set in the pendant they look so beautiful! I hope you agree 😉
Officially it is Fall, although you’d never know it stepping outside into 95 degree heat, but it is here. I do notice a distinct chill in the air in the early mornings, though. That little bit of crispness that tells you the season is here (or almost here in our case).
I am SO ready for the weather to change and for that chill to be in the air all day long. I can’t wait to see the leaves change color (yes, where we live in SoCal they actually do that – something to do with it getting cold enough here in the Winter I think…)
I really can’t believe that the holidays are right around the corner though – how are we already here at this time of year again?! These days, I seem to have to make a special effort to slow my mind down so I am sure to enjoy everything and not let it all go by in a blur.
In the meantime, as I pine for Fall and prepare for the holidays, here are a few new Pandora-style beads to brighten your day: 😉

Now and then I accumulate several beads that for one reason or another did not meet my extremely high standards enough to be sold individually. They’re each still beautiful in their own way, made with all my best materials, properly kiln annealed and thoroughly cleaned, but they just did not turn out as I had originally planned. So they go into what I call an ‘Odd Lot’ set.
This particular Odd Lot collection includes some great large size focals and three fully lined Pandora style charm beads!
