How Many Murrini Can Fit Into One Bracelet Bead?

That IS the question – at least for me it is lately! Of course, the short answer is, “as many as I possibly can!”. 😀

I definitely push the limits of what these little beads can hold – I try to keep the overall size of the bead at or under 1/2″ x 3/4″ which is already a little on the big side for standard Pandora sized beads. In my opinion, though, I think the trade off a slightly bigger size is definitely worth it for the extra eye candy all those murrini chips give you in a single bead.

So if you can forgive the ‘generous’ size of my encased murrini bracelet beads I think you’ll truly love these little beauties. They add so much color, interest, and fun to your already beautiful Pandora-style bracelets 🙂

Maybe it’s the warmer weather (we were in the 90’s the other day!), but this week I was inspired to make a few large hole beads with my handmade flower murrini. These particular murrini are incredibly painstaking to make because they involve so many steps – but the results are worth it. When encased in clear glass they come alive and have so much detail and beauty. 🙂

Encased Murrini European Charm Big Hole Beads

What could be trickier than encasing tiny murrini chips in a large round bead? Encasing tiny murrini chips in a much smaller charm bead!

Let me tell ya! I thought making regular sized, round encased murrini beads was tough…I had another thing coming trying to squeeze as many murrini chips as possible into a much smaller charm bead.

The large hole means much less ‘volume of glass’ can be applied to the surface since they’re meant to be small and worn on a charm bead bracelet (such as Pandora, Troll, Biagi, etc.)

I do love a good challenge – but I don’t think I breathe at all when I make one of these beads, LOL 😀

Besides the fun of making them, my most favorite thing about these beads is the fact that there is something new to look at from every angle. That just makes them so special, I think. 🙂

Even though making these beads takes a long time, a lot of work and concentration, (and can even be downright stressful at times!), they have become my all time favorite beads to make….thus far. 😉

No two of these beads are exactly the same so each of them is a one-of-a-kind, very special piece.

I build them murrini by murrini, rarely choosing the chips in advance. I like to be spontaneous and pick the murrini chips as I go along building the bead. Here’s a picture of the pile of murrini I have to choose from as I make a bead:
