NEW Beads – 7/23/2020

Happy Thursday! I hope you are safe and doing well –

I am happy to present a sneak peek of this week’s beads that will be listed on the Lampwork Bead Market FB group shortly.

Handful of encased murrini beads with sterling silver cores and bead caps

This batch of beautiful beads feature new murrini and lots of sparkly highlights including goldstone and shimmering dichroic glass.

I’ve also added bead caps to several of the beads!

I like to add full size caps to beads that are on the larger size so they can be worn both as a focal piece on a bracelet as well as a pendant on a necklace.

A couple of the smaller bracelet-size beads feature mini caps that do not add the amount of width to the bead that the larger caps do. They just give them a gorgeous, professional jeweler’s finish.

Here is a link to the Lampwork Bead Market Facebook group where you’ll be able to find these beauties later today – you do have to join the group to view listings: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lampworkbeadmarket/

(P.S. If these beads are not picked up on FB I will move them over to Etsy, however the pricing will be higher due to additional listing/selling fees that Etsy charges.)

Thanks for looking!

Me and My Torch – Reunited! :D

Hello, hello! It has been quite a while since I last posted any new beads.

Life, for me, has taken many twists and turns during the past several months (nearly a year). From other projects taking my time and attention, to a big and complicated move to a new home, not to mention Covid, etc.

But now, finally, I am back making beads regularly and cannot tell you how happy it makes my heart to allow my creativity to flow once again.

You know how much I LOVE working with little murrini chips in my bead designs and, of course, these new beads are no exception.

I am very excited to share a few photos with you of some of my newly made beads:

encased murrini beads by Christina CatherineHello fellow glass enthusiastists!

First, I very much hope you are safe and sound and doing well during this challenging time.

If there can be any silver lining from having to stay home during this impossible situation, it may be that we now have an opportunity to discover (or rediscover) our creative side. 🙂

For me that means working toward getting back to the torch and once again making the lampwork glass art beads I love so much!

Our family recently moved and we are still in the process of setting up my new glass studio.

I am so excited because it will be better than ever – I can’t wait for it to be ready! I will finally have a completely dedicated space where I can dive into my passion for melting glass.

This new space will also allow me to offer a virtual LIVE class experience that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home studio!

*CLICK HERE TO GET ON THE WAITLIST FOR MY FIRST CLASS*

Once I am up and running, I plan to offer a 3 Day Workshop, through LIVE video, teaching how I make my very popular Encased Seascape Murrini Beads.

This class – taught in real time with the recordings included – will teach you a multitude of skills!

I will take you from those very first steps of creating the foundational elements – including making murrini cane as well as the other little details that go into these Beads – all the way through to encasing and finishing the final bead.

This is like getting all three of my tutorials, taught to you LIVE and step-by-step, in ONE 3-day class. 😀

Glass artists at any level can enjoy this Workshop!

Beginners will be challenged, and their skills will be stretched, taking them to the next level in their learning. While advanced artists will learn all my secrets, my methodology and will pick up several new skills they may not have had a chance to try yet.

These are my tried and true techniques that I have used to make my best-selling Encased Seascape Murrini Beads for over 10 years.

Everything will be broadcasted LIVE and will also be recorded so you can watch the videos again and again.

The content will be conveniently presented to you through a private Facebook group for students only so you will get the personal attention and one-on-one support that is vital to your success as a glass artist.

I greatly look forward to teaching you the skills I have honed since I started lampworking in 2008 through the wonders of today’s technology!

Spring is here! The flowers are blooming…and so is a batch of NEW BEADS! :D

Hello! I hope this message finds you enjoying the first weeks of Spring and all the new flowers blooming! 😀

This has truly been one of the most glorious spring-times I can remember in all my years here in Sunny SoCal.

We had SO much rain this winter that the hills and mountains all around us are completely covered with thick carpets of green grass and beautifully colored wildflowers everywhere!

My family and I recently went out to visit a Poppy Reserve. They were experiencing a ‘Super Bloom’ this year and it was absolutely SPECTACULAR! The hills were exploding with bright orange flowers as far as the eye could see. Here is a photo I took of one particularly densely packed hillside…

All this color around me has inspired a new batch of beads, many with a floral theme. I finished most of them with silver, brass, or copper bead caps as well. I think the caps finish the beads so nicely making them perfect to wear all on their own, if you choose.

Here is the latest batch of beads available now on Etsy:
