A Trip to Disneyland & New Beads

This time last week my family and I were at the happiest place on earth – Disneyland!  And, as commanded by every ‘cast’ member we encountered there, we truly had a *magical day* the entire time we were there. For us Disneyland is the perfect stay-cation getaway in SoCal! 😀

Here’s a quick peek at the view from our hotel room (notice Mickey in the shrubbery toward the bottom of the photo):

And here’s a picture of a Disney-cat! There are dozens of cats that live on the DL property year round. This little guy was just a kitten and curled up next to us by the pool one night. Such a cutie!

When I got home it was time to get back to work (never easy after a vacation) but inspiration struck and I came up with these new beads: 😀

BARNACLES – pendant necklace
GARDEN PARTY – pendant necklace
GODIVA – bicone focal
SWEETPEA – pendant necklace
TIDEPOOL – pendant necklace

Flowers, Scrolls and Hearts – Lampwork Beads

Introducing several new designs! Dimensional beads, scrolls, encased florals and hearts 😀

Lampwork Beads with Antique Scrolls

The older I get the more I appreciate and am drawn to older things. They remind me of an era gone by and seem to hold so much more value than something brand new since they are already well used.

With this new scroll design, I have tried to recreate that antique feel and old-fashioned look of yesteryear. I look forward to incorporating this pattern into many more of my beads! 🙂

“Godiva” Bead Collection

Who else on the west coast woke up at 2am to watch the Royal Wedding live on TV? I for one was not about to miss this historic event!

After all, I have such fond memories of waking up very early as a young girl to watch Princess Diana marry Prince Charles. I was thrilled my two daughters wanted to wake up at “o’dark hundred” to share this special occasion with me as well. I hope it is something they’ll never forget.

Sure, I could’ve recorded it and watched it later, but there is something about seeing it live with the rest of the world that was so exciting.  😀

I was really inspired by all the rich gold tones in Prince William’s uniform, the amazing decor of Westminster Abbey and in the beautiful wedding photos taken at Buckingham Palace. So much decadence!

I tried to capture that stunning opulence in this collection of beads named ‘Godiva’.
